Congressman Eliot Engel, the Democrat representing New York’s 16th congressional district, joined Mount St. Michael Academy’s CEO Peter Corritori, Jr. and Silver Lining Solar President Barrett Silver at a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the installation of the 110kW system on the gymnasium’s roof. The 324 solar panels produce almost 20% of the school’s annual electrical needs and will save the school over a half million dollars over the system’s lifespan. Representative Eliot praised the project as an example of a learning tool for the students, an environmental benefit to the Wakefield community, and a sound financial decision by the school’s leadership.
